1 piece, 4 ways >> the leather harness

If I were a poet — or knew anything about poetry — I would craft an ode to my Gary Graham leather harness. Just the most perfect accessory in the whole world. It’s bold and unique and interesting and it goes with absolutely everything.

Style it: Party dressing

Our favorite thing about the holidays? All the opportunities to play dress up, of course! With just a week until Christmas and 2 weeks until New Year’s, party season is in full swing and it’s time to break out the bling (sorry, couldn’t help myself).

Under the auspice of “holiday-party-dressing research,” I headed over to the brand new brick-and-mortar installment of one of our very favorite online shopping destinations, Luxury Garage Sale, to see what a girl might find if she was in search of the perfect holiday outfit.

I found a few ideas.

Sparkly statement neckwear and a long, flowy skirt. Perfect for making a ladylike impression.

A special, perfect skirt. Perfect for sitting, standing, dancing, and definitely prancing. And making an artsy impression.

Red and green. Simply perfect for the holidays. Why not? Your neighbor has Santa and however many reindeer on his roof, so why not make a little — slightly more stylish — statement of your own?

look 1: DKNY skirt, Etro collar, vintage bag, Opening Ceremony sandals; look 2: Lanvin skirt, Shourouk necklace, Rachel Comey lace pants, Pedro Garcia shoes; look 3: Les Prairies de Paris dress; Maison Martin Margiela boots; Krizia bag; Diana Broussard ring ;  }

1 piece, 4 ways >> the Gap academy blazer

As you know, we recently shot an advertorial for Gap’s Styld.by campaign for Rue Magazine. They sent us a box of clothing to use for the shoot, and I instantly went right for their adorable Academy Blazer in black with white piping. I loved the classic silhouette and the piping was such an interesting twist. I took it home and started rifling through my closet to find the perfect outfit for the shoot. What I quickly discovered was that I could easily put together a plethora of ensembles featuring this simple and versatile little piece.

For Rue, I wore it with a long sheer panel skirt and Gap tee. But the “losers” were still all things that I would (and do) wear.

First up, my jodhpurs and a graphic tee…

Gary Graham jodhpurs, Rogan for Target New York City tee, Wendy Nichol yarn shell necklace, Winifred Grace leather cuff, Ray-Ban sunnies, Lanvin leopard wedges

Next, my beloved palm print onesie. I know it’s out there and it’s a little bit like children’s pajamas, but I love it. It’s one of those things that I wear because I like it. I loved the way the black-and-whites mixed and how the blazer actually brought the jumper down a little, while still being, ummm, courageous?

Surface to Air onesie, Roland Mouret belt, Jensen-Conroy knit chain necklace, Tom Ford sunnies, Jil Sander booties

And last, my favorite (next to the Gary Graham): with my prized Louis Vuitton ball skirt. ‘Nuf said.

Louis Vuitton skirt, Laurence Dacade booties, Sam Goldberg druzy quartz ring

Our style >> the jodhpur

We traveled down to Dallas a couple of weeks back for a quick trip of business fun :)  The one pant I packed were my Gary Graham jodhpurs.  These have been in my wardrobe for some time now & I’ve not shown them the love they deserve…So off they go along with a pretty silk blouse, a trusty tee, 2 pairs of shoes & a swimsuit!

Travel day:  worn with Rag & Bone tee & Eileen Shields platforms

Around town:  worn with Rachel Comey Brewster top & Rachel Comey Dora Sandals

Poolside: worn with Loeffler Randall swimsuit

BTW…if you’re ever in Dallas, you must stay at the Belmont Hotel!  Not fancy, but definitely definitely charming!!

Our style >> the metallic shift

We mentioned earlier in the week that “one of our editors” wore that adorable Rachel Comey metallic shift down in Texas for 2 days. Well that editor was me! And I am completely 100% obsessed with this dress. It was so comfy and easy and is my new go-to for traveling. I think come fall I can easily layer under it, and I’m sure it will be awesome with a blazer and boots as well. That Rachel Comey — she’s just so damn good.

Day 1: Worn with J Brand jeans, vintage necklace, my Giles & Brother railroad spike cuff, and n.d.c. Olivia sandals

Day 2: Worn with Humanoid pocket belt, GIles & Brother railroad spike cuff, evil eye bracelet from Turkey, delicate beaded bracelet on silk cord from Robin Richman, Kora ring, and n.d.c. Olivia sandals.
