Inspiration >> art shoot

This past weekend we had the opportunity to work with one of our favorite artists, photographer Kirsten Miccoli, on an art shoot inspired by the illustrations of Japanese illustrator, Audrey Kawasaki. Kirsten is obsessed with Audrey and her illustrations (just take a look at the in-progress tat working its way up her right forearm if you don’t believe me), but she’s even more obsessed with the work of Tim Walker. She was very excited for this shoot and we knew she had grand expectations, so we did some serious surfing for inspiration. And oh my God, did we get some good ideas and find some beautiful imagery!

{Don’t you just love Pinterest?}

We’ll post the story here next Wednesday, Jan 16th. But if you can’t wait (and are going to be in Chicago this Friday, Jan 11th), you can see the images — art scale! — at:

Our Styling: Inspiration

Prepping for two shoots next week and my inspiration board is slowly coming together.  I’m really loving the mood of these images set off by the heavy lip, “feathers”, braids & barefeet…and all back to some pretty simple wares.   I’m really quite excited about these two shoots because we’re shooting them both at the same fantastic location {that’s been featured here & here & here!} Hmmm…I think I may have to pack a bag of jumbo marshmellows in the styling kit too 😉 Have a wonderful Friday & weekend everyone!
